I am a successful professional singer and coach / teacher, with a passion for singing and for helping others to achieve their goals.
I started singing professionally over 20 years ago and have learned lots of interesting stuff along the way.
I come from a very large family – there’s 7 kids, I don’t know how my mum did it, all my brothers are over 6 foot tall! Both my parents have a great love of music and singing; both have wonderful voices but have never performed professionally. My grandad used to sing in the pubs to earn a little extra cash to help bring up his family but unfortunately he died when I was still young, before really being able to pass on his knowledge to me. One thing he did give to me however was, an un-wavering passion, and need to sing.
I say need because without it I’m like an un- watered plant. To me singing is like the food that feeds my soul.
You might think that’s a bit dramatic but it really is my passion.

Aswell as being a professional entertainer myself, I teach at a 6th form college in the UK and have over 12 years experience working with and mentoring 16-18 year old students. I am also an avid reader of self improvement books and literature and have passed on my knowledge to my fabulous students. I wish I had been shown some of these fabulous books and introduced to the many amazing authors when I was younger. It would have made a massive difference to my teenage confidence levels.
So it’s safe to say that when I first started out in the Music Business I was pretty ‘green’.
In fact the first professional gig I did was in a very ‘green’ dress – it suited the stage I was at. It’s ok to look back and laugh at myself now but at the time I remember feeling pretty overwhelmed by it all.
I had so many questions and no idea where to get the answers from, no idea who to trust and no idea about half the questions, never mind the answers.
I decided that I wanted to make a difference to the lives of aspiring singers and performers. Give them a shorter learning curve than mine. Well at least a less bumpy one.
I realised that by working with my students even though many of them had very good voices, most were missing that illusive x factor.
Do you have the X factor? What is it anyway?
Can it be bought?
The answer is YES YOU DO. No one else is quite like you. No one in the whole of time past or time present and future will ever be exactly the same as you, even if you have a so called ‘identical’ twin. You are unique and therefore very special.
I am interested in finding people who are interested in developing their unique X factor, in developing the unique alchemy ‘gold dust’ of their voices and performances and then translating that into a real career in the music business.
Not just a one season run on the X factor show, to then go back to working down the local chip shop.
I am in the process of putting together a package of tutorials in the form of video and audio clips and PDF’s covering all the lessons I have learned in my twenty odd years in this crazy business. It covers; voice coaching, performance coaching as well as hot tips on how to create the right image and sell and package your end product and much more.
What’s new in that you may ask?
Well, I know as well as you do that you can work on all these things and get really good, but that’s just no use if you haven’t got the confidence and self belief to put it in to practice.
As well as all the tips mentioned above:
I will show you how to develop yourself, your thoughts your own sense of self worth and belief to such a level that you’ll never think something is out if your reach again.
In addition to this, due to my lecturing experience I am used to helping people who are complete novices as well as people who are already quite a long way along the learning curve to success but who just may need the guidance of a mentor to help them overcome one or two hurdles.
